'Coming Soon' I hope. 'Soon' ' in never never land is at least two years or longer so...hope you're patient! I shall post it's progress.

My adventures in movie land. Not over yet. In the process of marketing my screenplay of 'the last Iceberg' . It's a 130 page feature screenplay

The last iceberg is a sci-fi novel inspired by pinching my son, Ben's 2000AD comic when he was a kid. The first page I turned to featured Judge Dredd, a crime operative who ruled with a fist of iron. His catch phrase was 'you're next punk.' It always made me smile. Thanks Ben!.

A Mexican woman, who turned herself into a vampire look-a-like after suffering years of domestic violence, is helping other victims. Maria is a 36yr old mother of four from a Catholic background.
98% 0f her body is covered with tattoos and she has implanted fangs in her mouth and titanium horns placed on her head.
She says this is a way of recovering from the trauma of abuse and she uses her appearance to help victims.
She says "At first people were interested because I was cool - but I see it as something good coming out of bad, I won't be able to change the world but I'm happy to be there to help the people who need it.

Understanding 'Something Understood.'

For all you early risers who find the title of my 'virgin' blog a bit incomprehensible listen in to radio 4, on Sunday morning at 6 a.m, and all will be revealed.  If you're not an early bird set the alarm. I'm sure your partner/husband/wife/dog will be delighted to be woken up early on the last day of the Olympics.

Off Down South to help look after my lovely girls, Poppy and Tess, so can't possibly start my new book till I get back, (procrastination or what?) but I will be thinking and looking and listening. I shall start my research on the seven hour train journey down to Wiltshire. It's a great way to spot characters isn't it? 

Inspiration. Do you find it or does it find you?

This amazing Pig's Snout Kloof, on the road between Hermanus and Stanford in the rural Western Cape of S. Africa, was the inspiration for my latest novel -- The Leopard Man.

I've passed this place hundreds of times on my various trips to see my daughter and family and its magic has obviously been drip-dripping into my subconscious because when I started the book there it was - as the setting and also a powerful natural element in the plot.  

At the novel's book launch I had a biggish poster made of this photo and several people suggested I should have somehow incorporated this image into the book. I wasn't clever enough for that so I've  had some post cards made (by moo.com - the printing site) and I'm distributing them.

Now I'm looking around for - or waiting for - the inspiration for my next book on menopausal vampires. Not, Transylvania, or Whitby - maybe Northumberland but who knows? Come on inspiration. I need you

 

Another review of Patterson's curse

Another really nice review of Patterson's Curse by Sharon Griffiths of The Northern Echo - thanks Sharon.
At last got the book online on Amazon so am hoping for some personal reviews. Sales still trickling on - almost out of negative equity! .Brilliant stuff. I'm still enjoying every moment of it all. Three book clubs have read it so far and it's so interesting to hear what comes out of the discussions. Stuff I would never have thought of. Best comment recently was "D'you know what I loved about your book, Anne?" - And I was waiting with suitably modest smile - "I loved the short chapters." So there you go.
